Profile & Settings

Every teacher maintains a complete professional profile within the system — personal information, academic qualifications, subject allocations, notification preferences, and IQAC contributions. The profile serves as the single source of truth for the teacher's identity across all portal modules.

1. Personal Information

  • Profile Photo: Upload a professional photo — displayed across all portal interactions (student-facing profiles, assignment grading, messaging, leave approvals).
  • Full Name: Official name as registered with the institution.
  • Employee ID: Unique institutional employee identifier — read-only (cannot be changed by the teacher).
  • Designation: e.g., Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor — set by the administration.
  • Department: The department this teacher belongs to — determines which classes, HOD, and students they interact with.
  • Contact Number and Email: Primary contact details — used for institutional communications and portal notifications.
  • Date of Joining: Official joining date — read-only field managed by administration.

2. Academic Qualifications

Teachers record their complete educational background and teaching specializations.

  • Highest Qualification: e.g., M.Tech, Ph.D., M.Sc. — with university name and year of completion.
  • Specialization: Primary academic specialization (e.g., "Machine Learning and Data Science").
  • Teaching Experience: Total years of teaching experience (at current institution and total including previous).
  • Subjects of Expertise: List of subjects the teacher is qualified and experienced to teach — visible to the HOD when making subject allocations.
  • Industry Experience: Prior industry work experience (if any) — relevant for NAAC and NBA reporting.

3. Subject & Class Allocations

A read-only view of all current academic allocations — managed by the HOD and shown here for the teacher's reference.

  • Current Semester Allocations: Table showing each class, subject, and academic year — what the teacher is currently assigned to teach.
  • Class Teacher Designation: If the teacher is designated as Class Teacher for any class, it is clearly marked here.
  • Historical Allocations: Subjects and classes taught in previous semesters — useful for self-reference and for IQAC documentation of teaching experience.

4. Password & Security

  • Change Password: Enter the current password, then set a new password. Password strength indicator enforces minimum security standards (8+ characters, one number, one special character).
  • Session Logout: "Log out of all devices" option — terminates all active sessions across every browser/device. Useful if the teacher suspects unauthorized access.
  • Login History: A log of recent login activity — date, time, and approximate location (city-level, based on IP). Teachers can report suspicious entries to the administration.

5. Notification Preferences

Teachers control which events trigger in-portal notifications.

6. IQAC Professional Development Entries

Teachers log their professional activities throughout the year — making end-of-year IQAC documentation effortless.

  • Research Publications: Add journal papers, conference proceedings, and book chapters with journal name, impact factor, and publication date.
  • Faculty Development: Log FDP attendance, workshops, online certifications, and training programmes with the organiser name, date, and duration.
  • Projects & Grants: Record funded research projects, consultancy work, and industry collaborations.
  • Administrative Roles: Document committee memberships, examination duties, and other institutional responsibilities.
  • Awards & Recognition: Record teaching excellence awards, research recognitions, and institutional honours.
  • Community Outreach: Log extension activities, guest lectures delivered at other institutions, and social responsibility initiatives.
  • Auto-aggregation: All individual teacher entries are automatically compiled by the HOD into the department's IQAC annual report — no manual compilation required at the year end.

Overall Benefit: The Teacher Profile serves as a living, always-current professional record — used across attendance, grading, leave, and communication. The IQAC section transforms the traditionally painful year-end documentation exercise into an ongoing, 2-minute-per-entry process. At the end of the academic year, the teacher's complete IQAC contribution report is already compiled — needing zero additional effort.
