1. Marks Sheet Lifecycle

The marks system follows a controlled workflow to ensure accuracy:

Step 1 — HOD Creates Sheet: Define the subject, components (Internal, External, Practical, Viva), and maximum marks for each
Step 2 — HOD Shares with Teacher: The respective subject teacher gets access to enter marks
Step 3 — Teacher Enters Marks: Marks entered via spreadsheet-style interface or Excel upload
Step 4 — HOD Reviews: Reviews entered data for accuracy before publication
Step 5 — HOD Publishes: Toggles student visibility — students can now see their marks
Step 6 — HOD Locks: Locks the sheet to prevent further changes

2. Marks Entry (Teacher)

Spreadsheet-style interface for quick data entry
Component-wise entry — separate columns for each component (Internal, External, Practical, etc.)
Special marks handling — Absent, Withheld, Grace marks

3. Student View

4. Marks Grievance System

Student Side: If a student believes marks are incorrect, they can raise a grievance through the portal with a detailed explanation
Teacher Side: View and respond to grievances for their subjects
HOD Side: Configure grievance deadlines and monitor all grievance activities
Audit Trail: Every grievance action is logged for accountability
