Director Dashboard
The moment the Director logs in, this is the first page they see — a live, institution-wide command centre aggregating KPIs, department health indicators, attendance trends, pending escalations, and an AI-generated strategic briefing. No phone calls to HODs required.

② AI Strategic Briefing
A collapsible panel powered by Google Gemini AI. When the Director opens the dashboard, the AI analyses institution-wide data and generates a concise executive briefing — similar to a management report summary, delivered automatically.
- Executive Summary: 3–4 sentence paragraph summarizing the institution's current academic health — what is going well and what requires attention.
- Top Risks: Departments or metrics flagged as requiring Director-level attention (e.g., "Department of Mechanical Engineering has average attendance of 61% — below threshold for 3 consecutive weeks").
- Strategic Recommendations: 3–5 action items suggested by the AI, ranked by urgency — e.g., "Consider issuing a directive to HODs for departments with NAAC criterion gaps."
- Positive Highlights: Departments or teams performing exceptionally well — useful for recognition and morale.
- Refresh: The Director can generate a fresh analysis at any time. Timestamp shows when the current briefing was generated.
Benefit: The AI briefing replaces the traditional morning calls and email chains with HODs. The Director arrives at the office already knowing the institution's status — enabling proactive, not reactive, leadership.
③ Department Health Cards
One card per department — showing the key health metrics for that department at a glance. The Director can monitor all departments from a single scroll.
- Department Name & HOD: Clearly labeled with the current HOD's name and contact.
- Student Count: Total enrolled students, broken down by program if applicable.
- Average Attendance %: Color-coded — Green (above 80%), Amber (70–80%), Red (below 70%).
- Pending Actions: Leave requests, marks grievances, and QPMS submissions pending in that department.
- Feedback Score: Average teacher feedback rating for the department's faculty this cycle.
- Drill-Down Link: "View Full Department Report" — opens the detailed department report page.
④ Institution Attendance Trend
A multi-line chart showing week-by-week attendance trends for each department across the current semester. The Director can identify which departments are trending downward and intervene early.
- Department Toggle: Show/hide individual department lines on the chart.
- Threshold Line: A horizontal reference line at the 75% minimum threshold.
- Date Range: View this week, this month, or the full semester.
⑤ Teacher Performance Summary
A sortable table showing the institution's top-rated and lowest-rated teachers based on student feedback, across all departments.
- Top 10 Performers: Highest feedback scores — useful for recognition and awards.
- Needs Attention (Bottom 10): Lowest scores — enabling targeted faculty development interventions.
- Department Filter: Filter the performance table by department.
- Drill-down: Click any teacher's row to see their full feedback analysis and performance history.
⑥ Pending Escalations
A queue of items that have been escalated to the Director level — requiring personal attention or sign-off.
- Marks Grievances Escalated to Director: Student grievances that were rejected by the teacher and HOD and are now at the final Director level.
- Leave Appeals: Leave applications rejected by the HOD that students have formally appealed to the Director.
- NAAC Flag Items: Criteria gaps or missing documentation flagged by the IQAC coordinator requiring Director resolution.
⑦ NAAC Readiness Meter
A radial gauge showing the institution's overall NAAC/IQAC readiness score — calculated from submitted data across all criteria.
- Criterion-wise Breakdown: Scores for each of the 7 NAAC criteria shown as individual progress bars.
- Missing Data Alerts: Red flags for criteria where data is incomplete or outdated.
- Last Updated: Timestamp showing when each criterion was last updated by the IQAC team.
⑧ Quick Action Buttons
- Generate Board Report — One-click executive report generation.
- Send Institute Circular — Compose and publish a circular to all HODs and staff.
- View NAAC Dashboard — Full NAAC criterion status screen.
- Schedule Review Meeting — Initiate a department review meeting notification.
Overall Benefit: The Director Dashboard eliminates the need for morning rounds, phone calls to HODs, and waiting for weekly email reports. Every critical institution metric is visible in real time. The AI briefing means the Director can start each day already informed — leading with insight rather than inquiry.
