Feedback Submission

Students submit structured, anonymous feedback about teachers and courses through the portal. The HOD uses this data for performance evaluation and NAAC reporting.

1. Pending Feedback List

A list of all feedback forms assigned to the student that have not yet been submitted. Each card shows:

  • Form Title — e.g., "Mid-Semester Teacher Feedback — Semester IV"
  • Assigned By — HOD who created the form
  • Deadline — Due date with countdown. After the deadline, the form is closed and cannot be submitted.
  • Questions Count — Total number of questions in the form
  • "Fill Feedback" Button — Navigates to the teacher selection step

Completed feedback forms appear in a separate "Submitted" tab — students can view what they submitted but cannot edit it.

2. Teacher Selection

When a feedback form covers multiple teachers, the student first selects which teacher they're rating in this session. The system auto-populates teachers assigned to the student's class for the relevant subjects.

  • Each teacher card shows: name, subjects they teach, profile photo (if available).
  • Already-submitted teachers are greyed out with a "Submitted ✓" badge — prevents duplicate submissions.

3. Feedback Form

The main rating interface — clean, mobile-optimized, one question per section.

3.1 Question Types

TypeDescriptionExample
Rating Scale1–5 or 1–10 star/dot selector"Rate the teacher's communication clarity"
Multiple ChoiceSingle-select from 4 options"How often does the teacher use examples?"
Open TextFree-text comment box"What can the teacher improve?"
Yes/NoBinary radio buttons"Does the teacher complete the syllabus on time?"

3.2 Anonymity & Privacy

  • Anonymous by Design: The HOD and teacher never see which student gave which rating. The system stores only the aggregate count and scores, not individual student-to-response links (when anonymity is enabled by HOD).
  • Anonymity Badge: A "🔒 This feedback is anonymous" badge is prominently displayed on the form so students feel safe giving honest responses.
  • Non-Anonymous Mode: For certain feedback types (e.g., course improvement suggestions), the HOD may disable anonymity. A "Your name will be visible" warning is shown in this case.

3.3 Submission Process

  • All required questions must be answered before submitting — unanswered questions are highlighted.
  • A progress bar at the top shows how many questions have been answered out of total.
  • On submit, the response is saved and the student is redirected to the thank-you page.

4. Confirmation Page

  • A clean confirmation screen: "Thank you! Your feedback has been submitted successfully."
  • Shows a summary of which teacher/form was rated.
  • Provides a "Submit Feedback for Another Teacher" button if other teachers in the same form haven't been rated yet.

Benefit: Anonymous digital feedback encourages honest responses. Response rates are 2–3× higher compared to paper-based feedback. The HOD gets instant analytics — no manual tabulation. Teachers receive fair, aggregated performance scores that feed directly into evaluation reports and NAAC Criterion 2 documentation.
