Teacher Panel Overview

The Teacher Panel is the daily academic workstation for every faculty member — a unified portal to mark attendance, manage assignments and tests, enter marks, handle student leaves, submit question papers, and communicate with the department. Everything a teacher needs, in one place.

Role Scope: Each teacher sees only their own allocated classes and subjects. A teacher cannot view or modify data belonging to another teacher's classes unless explicitly assigned by the HOD.

System Architecture

The Teacher Panel is organized into 11 functional modules, each addressing a specific aspect of a teacher's academic responsibilities.

1. Teacher Dashboard

The first screen every teacher sees on login — a personalized, real-time summary of all pending tasks, today's schedule, and key academic alerts for their assigned classes.

Today's Schedule

All lectures for today with time slots, class names, and subjects — pulled from the HOD-configured timetable.

Pending Reviews

Assignment submissions waiting for grading and marks entry tasks that are yet to be completed.

Leave Approvals

Student leave requests that require the teacher's first-level review and action.

AI Insights

AI-generated summary of the teacher's class performance and suggested focus areas for this week.

Benefit: Teachers start each day with a complete picture of their responsibilities — no need to navigate multiple menus to find what's pending.

2. My Classes & Student Directory

A complete view of all classes and subjects allocated to the teacher for the current semester, with detailed student-level information for each class.

  • Allocated Classes: List of all classes the teacher teaches, with subject name and class details.
  • Student Directory: Full student roster for each class — name, roll number, photo, and current attendance status.
  • Student Profile View: One-click access to any student's complete academic profile — attendance, marks, assignment submissions, leave history, and more.
  • Class Teacher Duties: If the teacher is designated as Class Teacher for a class, they handle first-level leave approvals and student welfare monitoring for that class.

Benefit: Teachers have full visibility into their students' academic health without asking the office. Parent-teacher meeting preparation that used to take hours now takes minutes.

3. Attendance Marking

A fast, mobile-friendly attendance system that lets teachers mark every student's presence or absence for each lecture in under two minutes.

  • Lecture-wise Marking: Mark attendance for each class session based on the timetable.
  • Mark All Present: One-click "All Present" button with individual exceptions for absent students.
  • Adjustment Requests: Review and approve student requests to correct wrongly-marked attendance.
  • Reports & Export: Generate subject-wise attendance reports and export to Excel.

Benefit: Attendance marking that used to take 10–15 minutes with paper registers now takes under 2 minutes. No more manual percentage calculations or maintaining physical registers.

4. Assignment Management

Create, distribute, collect, annotate, and grade assignments — entirely within the portal.

  • Create & Publish: Set title, description, deadline, maximum marks, and target class.
  • Submissions Review: See all student submissions with timestamps and late-submission flags.
  • Annotate & Grade: Open submitted files, provide feedback, and assign marks directly in the portal.
  • Publish Results: Release grades and comments to students when grading is complete.

Benefit: The annotation feature lets teachers provide visual, document-level feedback — replacing the slow paper-return cycle with instant digital delivery.

5. Online Test Creation

Build and schedule online tests with multiple question types, AI question generation, and automatic grading.

  • Test Builder: Create tests with MCQ, True/False, Short Answer, and Multi-Select questions.
  • AI Question Generator: Automatically generate questions on a given topic and difficulty level using built-in AI.
  • Scheduling: Set exact date/time windows during which students can take the test.
  • Auto-Grading: Objective questions are graded instantly. Results are available immediately after submission.
  • Analytics: Question-wise performance analysis showing which questions students found most difficult.

Benefit: AI can generate a 20-question quiz in seconds. Auto-grading saves teachers 5+ hours per test compared to manual checking.

6. Marks Entry

Enter internal marks for all assigned subjects using a fast, spreadsheet-style interface — with Excel upload for bulk entry.

  • Component-wise Entry: Enter marks separately for Internal Exams, Assignments, Practicals, Viva, and other configured components.
  • Excel Upload: Download a pre-formatted template, fill marks offline, and upload for bulk entry.
  • Grievance Handling: Review and respond to student marks correction requests.
  • HOD Submission: Submit marks for HOD review before they are published to students.

Benefit: The Excel upload feature combines digital convenience with the familiarity of spreadsheets — teachers can work offline and upload when ready, with no data entry errors from manual typing.

7. Student Leave Management

The first tier of the 3-level leave approval chain. Teachers review, approve, reject, or return student leave applications for their allocated classes.

  • Pending Queue: All leave applications awaiting first-level review, sorted by submission date.
  • Approve / Reject / Send Back: One-click action with an optional comment for the student.
  • Leave History: Complete leave record for any student across the current academic year.

Benefit: Fully digital leave processing — no paper forms, no manual registers. Students get instant notification when their leave is actioned.

8. Question Paper Management (QPMS)

A secure, structured system for submitting examination question papers to the HOD — with revision tracking and template-based formatting.

  • Paper Allocations: View all question papers the teacher has been assigned to set.
  • Upload & Submit: Upload completed question papers through a secure channel.
  • Revision Cycle: If the HOD returns a paper for corrections, the teacher receives detailed feedback and can resubmit.
  • Pre-designed Templates: Use structured templates to ensure consistent paper formatting.

Benefit: Secure digital submission prevents question paper leaks. The template system ensures consistent formatting across all papers in the department.

9. Communication — Messaging & Notices

A built-in communication channel for teacher-to-student, teacher-to-HOD, and teacher-to-teacher communication.

  • Compose Messages: Send messages to individual students, entire classes, or the HOD.
  • File Attachments: Attach reference documents, study material, or corrections to messages.
  • Notice Board: View all department notices and circulars published by the HOD.
  • Broadcast Announcements: Send class-wide announcements (e.g., "Test rescheduled to Friday") to all students in a class.

Benefit: Replaces scattered WhatsApp groups with a structured, documented communication system — all messages are archived and traceable.

10. Reports & Analytics
